Spain wins Euro 2024, defeat England 2-1 in the final

Spain defeated England 2-1 to win the Euro 2024 and their record fourth UEFA Euro title. The first half of this title match in Berlin was very exciting, Spain tried to dominate from the beginning, but England did not let them score a goal by not giving in to the pressure. However, in the second half, Spain managed to score the first goal of the title match. In the 47th minute, Nico Williams’ goal gave the team a 1-0 lead over England. England equalized in the 73rd minute on the basis of Cole Palmer’s goal. The match was going on at 1-1 when Spain’s substitute Mikel Oyarzabal scored in the 86th minute to give the team a 2-1 lead which remained till the end.

Young sensation Lamine Yamal played an important role in Spain’s first goal, due to his assist, Williams was able to score a goal in the 47th minute.

Spain has won the Euro title for the first time since 2012. The team has previously lifted the trophy three times in 1964, 2008 and 2012.

With this defeat, England’s dream of winning a major tournament after 1966 remained unfulfilled again. England has faced defeat in the final of this tournament consecutively. In 2020, Italy won the title by defeating England in a penalty shootout.

The Spanish team appeared very emotional after this victory. Nico Williams was seen covering his face with his hands, overwhelmed by the moment, but was later consoled by his teammates. Another key player of Spain, Dani Carvajal, was also emotional as his teammates celebrated around him.
