Uttarakhand weather update: Thundershower alert in these areas on June 13

The weather has changed in Uttarakhand and clouds are hovering from the mountains to the plains. The rainy season is just round the corner. While, light rain has been recorded in some places in the plains as well. However, humidity is making people miserable in many places amid the rising temperatures.

According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of rain in most areas of the state on Friday. An orange alert has been issued for heavy rain with thunder and lightning in the Chardham area and the surrounding areas. There are chances of showers and gusty winds in other areas as well.

Partial clouds remained in Dehradun since morning on Thursday. Light sunshine also kept shining in between. Light to moderate rain occurred in some areas of Doon in the afternoon. There were spells of rain in areas like Rajpur Road, Sahasradhara Road, Raipur, Malsi, Lacchiwala etc. This brought instant relief from the humidity. However, other areas of the city remained comparatively drier. Due to which heavy humidity was felt and common people were troubled by the heat.

However, some relief is expected on Friday (June 13). There is a possibility of light to moderate rain along with partial cloud cover in Doon. Orange alert has been issued for heavy rain in Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Chamoli districts. Apart from this, yellow alert has been issued for lightning, thundershowers and gusty winds in the remaining districts.
