Uttarakhand weather update: Heavy rain forecast in seven districts

Heavy rain is expected in the hill districts of Uttarakhand on Tuesday as well. The Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert for heavy to very heavy rain in some areas of Tehri, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts including Dehradun. Heavy rains with lightning and thunder are also expected in other districts. Talking about the coming days, the weather is expected to remain the same in the state till August 29.
There is a period of intermittent showers in Uttarakhand. Heavy rains have been going on in Dehradun since Sunday night, but the rain stopped in the morning and the sun came out. The sun and clouds kept playing hide and seek throughout the day, but there were periods of intense showers on Monday evening.
Heavy rains occurred in most areas of Dehradun, while light to moderate showers with thunder continued at night as well. Rain will continue at some places today as well. Dehradun and surrounding areas may remain partly cloudy to generally cloudy.
Rivers and streams overflowed in 14 states, landslides also increased difficulties
Life has been badly affected due to heavy rains in at least 14 states of the country during the last 24 hours. The situation is serious in Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. Rivers and streams are overflowing. Movement has been disrupted due to broken roads and landslides. After the death of four devotees from Punjab, the Mani Mahesh Yatra has been halted. More than 2,000 devotees are still stranded midway. However, everyone is in safe places.
