Canadian teenager Bianca Andreescu wins US Open 2019

Canada’s 19-year-old tennis player Bianca Andreescu defeated Serena Williams in the final of the US Open to win her first Grand Slam title. In this match on Saturday, Bianca defeated Serena Williams 6-3, 7-5 in straight sets. Andreescu kept the pressure on Serena from the very beginning and succeeded in creating history. This is Serena’s second consecutive defeat in the US Open final. Last year Serena lost the final match to Japan’s Naomi Osaka.

Bianca Andreescu is the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam and with this victory, she has become the second youngest winner to win a Grand Slam. The record of winning the youngest Grand Slam is in the name of Maria Sharapova of Russia. Incidentally, Williams was the runner up that too against Sharapova. She became the champion in 2006. Bianca defeated Bencich of Switzerland 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 in the semi-finals and entered the final. She also became the second quickest to win a Grand Slam since her Slam debut winning in her 4th attempt.

24th Grand Slam title eludes Serena

The first set was easily won by Bianca 6-3, but after that she got a tough fight in the second set. But in the end Bianca won the set 7-5, shattering Serena’s dream and preventing her from winning the 24th Grand Slam title. Serena Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam winner, defeated Elina Svitolina to enter the final of the US Open Tennis Grand Slam. In this way, Serena was trying for the 24th Grand Slam so that she could match the record of Margaret Court but she could not succeed.

After the match, Bianca said, “My dream came true this year, I am very thankful. I worked hard for this moment. It was really great to play against the right legend Serena. “Serena said,” Bianca showed an incredible game. I feel so proud and happy for you. Great tennis was seen here. “
