Haridwar Kumbh 2021 to be held as per schedule says CM Rawat

On Wednesday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat held discussions with the Minister of Urban Development, Madan Kaushik and the President of Akhara Parishad, Mahant Narendra Giri and representatives of other akharas, for the upcoming Kumbh Mela. The Chief Minister said that prompt action will be taken on the views and suggestions of the members of the Akhara Council. He asked the members of the Akhara Council to apprise the Municipal Development Minister about their problems.

Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat said that the Kumbh to be held in Haridwar in 2021 will be held at the scheduled time. What will be its nature will also depend on the circumstances of that time.

The Chief Minister said that funds will be provided in the form of grants for the arrangements made by the Akharas at their level for the devotees, with whom the land will be available, the departmental officer will be entrusted with the responsibility of checking the quality of works etc.

The Chief Minister said that all permanent construction works in Haridwar will be completed before Kumbh. He said that fast work is also being done in the construction of bridges and roads connecting Haridwar. The Chief Minister assured the members of the Akhara Council that their problems will be resolved quickly. Along with the reconstruction of the roads connecting the akhadas, special attention will be paid to remove encroachments and cleanliness.
