Night curfew in Pithoragarh villages due to leopard threat

Three days ago, a leopard attacked a girl in Bajeti area of ​​Pithoragarh. People are scared after the incident. People scurry to their homes even before dusk. The leopard, who killed the innocent, has been imprisoned in the cage, but as a precaution, night curfew has been imposed in some areas here. There is a ban on people coming out of the house. District Magistrate Dr Ashish Chauhan has ordered night curfew here. Deputy District Magistrate Nandan Kumar said that as per the instructions of District Magistrate Pithoragarh, night curfew has been imposed in some areas of the district.

Areas where night curfew will remain in force include Bajeti, Paun, GIC Road, Chandak and Rai areas. The terror of leopard is increasing continuously in these areas. People are not feeling safe. The wild cat, who killed the innocent girl three days ago, was caught, but the danger is not averted. Now night curfew has been imposed here. Curfew will remain in place from 6 pm to 6 am. The DM has directed Inspector-in-Charge Police Station Kotwali Pithoragarh, Sub Divisional Forest Officer and District Disaster Management Officer Pithoragarh to inform the general public about the curfew by spreading publicity in the area from time to time. Action will be taken against those who do not follow the order under relevant sections.
