Paragliding to start from 3 locations in Rudraprayag

If you are a lover of adventure sports then this news is for you. Paragliding service will soon start in Jawadi, Papadasu and Kund in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. The team of Uttarakhand Paragliding Association Uttarakhand has given permission to the tourism department to start the service. The department has also started preparations.

On Thursday, a two-member team led by Paragliding Association secretary Shankar Singh surveyed three locations in the district for paragliding. The team first reached Kund on the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund highway, where a trial for paragliding training was successful.

After this, the team also surveyed in front of the district headquarters at Jawadi and Badrinath Highway in Papadasu. Slope has to be further developed here at both the places, for which action will be taken soon.

District Tourism Officer Sushil Nautiyal informed that training will be started soon for the youths interested in paragliding in Kund. Hetold that in the field of adventure tourism, there is a great tendency of tourists towards paragliding. A blueprint for regular operation will be prepared soon.

On the instructions of District Magistrate Mangesh Ghildiyal, the tourism department had prepared an action plan for paragliding about two months ago for the development and operation of adventure sports in the district. The plan was then sent to the association by the department.

The association was given time in December for trials and surveys. But this could not happen due to bad weather. Now, the tourism department has been given the green signal to conduct paragliding in the district after a trial by the team of the association at all three places.
