Cloudburst reported in Someshwar

First fire wreaked havoc in Someshwar of Almora district, then rain came as a boon and bane. Although the cloudburst helped in dousing out the forest fires in the district, it caused damage in Someshwar area. Due to heavy rains, debris entered many houses. The Almora-Kausani highway connecting Almora and Bageshwar districts was closed. Rain water started flowing along with the debris in the form of drains in front of the houses. Due to this, people left their homes and ran towards safe places. Debris and boulders reached the houses along with rain water, causing cracks in the houses. The administration team reached the spot and took stock of the damage.

Late Wednesday evening, there was sudden cloud burst and heavy rain in Chanoda and Adhuria of Someshwar area. In Chanoda, rain water from the back side of the village carried with it debris and boulders. Within no time, debris and boulders reached in front of the houses and people ran outside.
