Mercury plummets in hills after rain showers across Uttarakhand

Almora: Temperatures plummeted considerably after rains lashed several parts of Uttarakhand. Several towns lying in the hilly region of the state witnessed thundershowers from late Thursday evening onwards. The rains accompanied by chilling winds brought down the mercury scales in the state. Almora recorded 2.4 mm of rainfall had a lowest temperature reading of 6 degree Celsius on Friday.

As per the MET departments predictions, the weather in the state started to change late evening on Thursday and bright spells of sunshine were replace by cold and damp conditions by Friday morning. Scientists see the rain as benifical for the Rabi crops.
