Vandana Kataria appointed brand ambassador of Uttarakhand women empowerment

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday announced the appointment of Indian women’s hockey team player Vandana Kataria as the brand ambassador of the Department of Women’s Empowerment and Child Development.

The Uttarakhand government has already announced an incentive of Rs 25 lakh for Vandana, a resident of Roshanabad village in Haridwar district, who contributed significantly to the team’s impressive performance in the Tokyo Olympics. Chief Minister Dhami announced the appointment of Vandana as the brand ambassador during a program organized here to present the Tilu Rauteli Award to 22 women and Anganwadi worker award to 22 others. Vandana Kataria’s name is also included in the list of Tilu Rauteli awardees. The winner of this award is given 31 thousand rupees and a citation.

Earlier, State Sports Minister Arvind Pandey reached Vandana’s house and congratulated her mother and other family members with shawls and bouquets. On this occasion, the Minister said that the family has a great contribution in motivating their daughter to play even in difficult circumstances.

He said, “The great work that the daughter has done, her family’s contribution is also behind it. Her mother and brothers and sisters encouraged her by giving their share of happiness to their daughter.” The minister wished Vandana for a bright future on behalf of the people of the state to illuminate the name of the country and said that Vandana to everyone. I am waiting to return home and Uttarakhand and will be given a grand welcome here.
