Day Safari to resume at Corbett Tiger Reserve from June 14

Jim Corbett Park will be opened to tourists from Sunday, June 14 onwards. Tourists will be able to visit the Dhela, Jhirna, Bijrani and Pakhro zone of Corbett Tiger Reserve. Night stay has been banned currently. Durga Devi and Dhikala zones will remain closed.

On Friday, CTR Director Rahul told that the park was closed to tourists on 18 March due to the Corona pandemic. According to the new guidelines of NTCA, the park will be opened for day visits only from 14 June. Tourists can book their permits online from 10 am on June 13.

The park’s business zone will be closed on June 30, while the Jhirna, Dhela and Pakhro zones will remain open throughout the year as usual. In view of the NTCA guidelines, the park administration has denied entry to the park for children younger than ten years and elderly persons above 65 years.

Now only four tourists can go on Gypsy Safari

Vehicles will be sanitized at the entrance of all zones by the park administration, while guides, drivers and tourists will inevitably have to keep sanitizers and wear masks. This time the number of tourists has also been reduced. Only a driver, guide and four tourists will be able to visit the park in one Gypsy.

The evening safari time will be old (from two to six o’clock), while the morning time has been changed from seven to 11 o’clock instead of six. The website has been opened for online booking on Saturday. CTR Director Rahul said that the state government’s guidelines regarding corona will also be followed.

Corbett officials held a meeting with tourism businessmen on Friday to open the park. Several points were discussed with the tourism businessmen in the meeting. The meeting was led by CTR Deputy Director Kalyani. Tourism businessmen accused the CTR administration in the meeting that the opening of the park was announced first and the meeting is being called later.

Guidelines to be followed while visiting Corbett National Park

1. Visitors 10 years and below and 65 years and above will not be permitted to enter in Corbett Tiger Reserve, for safari.

2. Testing of all visitors, drivers and guides for temperature using contactless thermometers be carried out at the entry point. In case any individual has a temperature higher than normal, he/she will not be allowed for safari.

3. All visitors including drivers and guides shall ensure use of masks and face shields, and every vehicle shall have provision for a sanitizer which shall be used at the time of boarding/deboarding/whenever required.

4. To ensure social distancing, seating capacity is reduced by given below. (a) One Driver and One Guide is allowed at front seats. (b) Only two eco tourist are allowed in both, middle and back seats each. Hence total six persons are allowed in one Gypsy.

5. No Eco Tourist shall be allowed to disembark with in the tiger reserve.

6. For the time being, advance booking will be open for the period for 14-06-2020 to 30-06-2020.

7. Visitors should be aware and shall abide by the latest Guidelines issued by Government of India and Government of Uttarakhand before coming to safari to avoid any inconvenience
