Anti-copying law comes into force in Uttarakhand; know details

Strict anti-copying law has been implemented in Uttarakhand. The Pushkar Singh Dhami government decided to implement the stringent law after students’ anger, protests and violence erupted in the state. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami had already talked about the implementation of this law. The anti-copying ordinance was approved by the cabinet amid student uproar. It was sent to the governor for approval. Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh has approved the Uttarakhand Competitive Examination (Measures for Prevention and Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Ordinance 2023. CM Dhami thanked the Governor after the law was approved within 24 hours of the proposal being sent by the government. Stringent provisions have been made under this law. To curb the copying mafia, a provision of Rs 10 crore fine has been made. Along with this, a provision has also been made for life imprisonment or 10 years of jail. Apart from this, the property of the copying mafia will also be attached. Strict action will also be taken against the students who leak the paper. In view of this, the Anti-Copying Law is being described as the biggest anti-copying law in the country.

Strict provisions for those guilty of paper leak

It has also been decided to take strict action in case of paper leak of students under the Uttarakhand Anti-Copying Law. A provision has been made in the Act that if a student leaks paper in the recruitment examinations, or passes the examination by cheating, then that student will be banned for 10 years. This means that if a student is found indulging in this type of activity, he/she will not be able to appear in any recruitment examination for 10 years. They  will not be able to take part in the recruitment examinations. Gangster Act will be imposed on such students. Also, their property will also be confiscated. This rule will be applicable to the students who leak the question paper and pass the examination dishonestly by purchasing it.

 

10 years imprisonment, 10 crore fine

If a student is caught cheating in the recruitment examination, or if they is found indulging in unfair means in the exam, the will be punished for 3 years in such cases. In this type of case, a provision has been made for a fine of at least Rs 5 lakh. If the same candidate is found guilty of cheating or cheating in any other competitive examination for the second time, they will be punished with a minimum of 10 years. Also, a fine of at least Rs 10 lakh will be imposed on the concerned student.

If any person, Printing Press, Service Provider Institute, Management System, Coaching Institute etc. is found indulging in unfair means during recruitment examinations. This includes paper leaks. Provision has been made for life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10 crore to the concerned persons for their involvement in such cases.

Strict rules for candidates too

The candidates have been given a message to stay away from cheating and paper leak especially during the recruitment examinations. It has been made clear under the law that if a candidate is found cheating, they will be debarred from appearing in the recruitment examinations again for a period of 2 to 5 years from the date of filing of the charge sheet. If found guilty, they will be suspended from appearing in all examinations for 10 years. If caught copying again, the candidate will be suspended for 5 to 10 years from the date of filing of the charge sheet. In case of conviction, the candidate will be debarred from appearing in all competitive examinations for life.
