Activist Trupti Desai stuck at Kochi airport while going to Sabrimala

Activist Trupti Desai going to the Sabarimala Temple, which is going to open for the third time after the Supreme Court order, is not allowed to leave the Kochi airport. At the same time, the Kerala government is trying to create consensus on the decision of the court, but the opposition is unconvinced.

Kerala Police is not allowing Trupti and her colleagues to leave the airport due to security reasons. She has been facing huge opposition outside the airport since then. A large number of male and female protesters are sloganeering against Trupti Desai in Arival Lounge at the airport.

Breakfast at the airport

Due to security reasons, she is not being allowed to go outside by the police, Trupti had breakfast with her colleagues at the airport. Worker Rahul Ishwar has threatened to protest in Nilakkal near the temple in the event of Trupti Desai being allowed to go to Sabarimala. Section 144 has been imposed in Nilakkal and Pamba.
On the other hand, a crucial meeting of the Devasam Board is scheduled to take place in Pamba, in which decision has to be taken to file a petition for timely submission of the Supreme Court’s decision on women’s entry in the temple.

Also, the auto & taxi drivers there have refused to take them to the temple. Auto drivers have refused to take Trupti to Kottayam or Nilakkal.
The sanctum sanctorum of Sabarimala temple will open at five o’clock in the evening. After the Supreme Court’s order of September 28, the Sabarimala temple is going to open for the third time on Friday evening. Despite the verdict of the top court, no woman has been able to go to the temple due to protests from devotees and activists.

Fellow travelers request

Many fellow travelers at Kochi airport have written letters asking Trupti to follow the traditions. Do not hurt the feelings of millions of devotees of Lord Ayyappa.

After constant threats on social media, Trupti Describing the letter to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, she demanded security for going to the temple of Lord Ayyappa located in Sabarimala.

Earlier, Trupti Desai had said that after getting the permission from the Supreme Court, he will try to visit Sabarimala temple between November 16-20. Now, Bhumata Brigade has written a letter to Vijayan and sought protection during the visit on 17th November.

They had told that they would need protection till they came back from entering the temple. They have received threats of “suffering bad consequences” when they arrive in Kerala.

They said that many women tried to go before them but due to lack of police protection and support, they failed. Therefore, they have asked for security from the government to climb the stairs of the temple without any difficulty.

So far women’s ‘no entry’

Last month, the Supreme Court had allowed women from the age group of 10 to 50 years to go to Sabarimala temple, but after the opening of the temple, no women could get entry in the temple due to protest of devotees.
