Search on to locate missing trekkers in Vasukital-Triyuginarayan route
Four friends from Dehradun and Nainital, who went out for trekking from Kedarnath on the Vasukital-Triyuginarayan trekking route, contacted the rescue team via mobile in the morning, but their location could not be traced. Due to lack of smart phones, there is a problem in knowing their location. The police has sent another team of local youths to the trekkers’ rescue.
Earlier on Thursday, a team of local youths headed by Sonprayag Police Station Hoshiyar Singh Pankholi left for rescue from Triyuginarayan via the Toshi forest. At around seven in the morning, the team contacted the four people via mobile phone, but after that, despite efforts throughout the day, the rescue team could not talk to them.
SP Navneet Singh Bhullar said that these friends were contacted by phone on Thursday morning. During this, they were asked for a location. But they could not give the correct information. It is being told that they do not have a smart phone, due to which the location is not traceable. Due to the dense forest on this entire track, the rescue team is finding it difficult to find them.
No food nearby, no water source in the area
It is being told that these four people who went on trekking do not have food. Also, there is no source of water in the entire area. In such a situation, the challenge for rescue teams is to find them as soon as possible.
The team on mobile asked these friends to light a fire, so that their location could be detected with smoke. But in the thick forest, the smoke could not be seen.
Search continues for three days
4 friends from Dehradun and Nainital had reached Kedarnath. On July 13, the four friends left for Vasukital after visiting the temple. But by the same late evening, when they did not reach Triyuginarayan, their friends informed the Sonprayag police about the case. After which they are under investigation since 14 July.
