Rs 11.25 Crore approved for purchasing hi-tech Corona testing machines in Uttarakhand

In view of Covid-19, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has sanctioned an amount of Rs 11.25 crore for purchasing 3 high-tech testing machines for Doon, Haldwani and Srinagar Medical Colleges for increasing Covid Testing in the state. This amount has been approved from the State Disaster Response Fund. The testing capacity of these hi-tech machines purchased is 800 per day. Thus, it will be able to do 2400 tests per day. Till now, the machines installed in these medical colleges had less testing capacity.

Apart from this, 50 to 100 samples from the state are being sent to the Impact Lab of Chandigarh, while NCDC Lab in New Delhi, 300 are being sent from Haridwar, 300 from Udhamsingh Nagar and 100 from Nainital for examination. While about 50 tests are being conducted in the IIP testing lab.

To provide the facility of investigation at district level also, machines have been installed at 7 places. Four of them have started work, while 11 machines are being arranged further.

In-charge Secretary Health Pankaj Kumar Pandey said that the installation of Hi-Tech machines in these three medical colleges and installation of machines at district level will speed up the investigation of corona in the state.

25 new cases till Friday afternoon report

On Friday, 25 corona were found infected in the state. According to the Health Bulletin issued by the Health Department, 11 cases have been found in Almora on Friday, four in Dehradun, seven in Haridwar and three in Tehri.

With these, the number of infected patients has reached 2127 in the state. Out of these, 1423 patients have been cured. Currently 663 cases are active. In Uttarakhand, 80 corona infected cases were found in the state on Thursday.

Malini and Zilla Parishad market closed till tomorrow

Malini Market and Zilla Parishad Market in Kotdwar will now be closed till Saturday 20 June. The closure period has been extended after the corona infection was confirmed in five people of a businessman’s family. There are three shops of the family here.
