Chardham portals to be closed during lunar eclipse 2019
The portals of Chardham will be closed during the lunar eclipse. On the occasion of Guru Purnima, from the evening of July 16 till 17th morning th four Dhams will be closed.
Badrinath Kedarnath Dham will be closed on July 16 at 4:25 pm according to the Temple Committee. Badri-Kedar Temple Committee executive officer NP Jamloki and media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur told that there will be Mangal Aarti at 3:15 pm in the afternoon. All types of darshans will be closed in the eclipse period. There is a 3 hour lunar eclipse on Wednesday 17 July from 1:31 am to 4:31 minutes. Badrinath Dham’s bell will ring on July 17 at 4:40 am. Offerings to the Gods will be done at 6 in the morning. The rest of the worship schedule will run as usual.
After the lunar eclipse ends on July 17, the portals o Badri-Kedar Dham will be opened to the devotees for the darshan. All the temples that are under the Badri-Kedar Temple Committee will be closed due to the lunar eclipse.
Gangotri Dham’s Tirth Purohit and Gangotri Temple Committee co-secretary Rajesh Samwal said that on July 16 evening the Ganga Arti will be held at 3:45 pm. Rajbhog will take place at 4 o’clock. After this the portals will be closed at 4:10. Mangala Aarti will be at 5:45 minutes on the morning of July 17th. Only after this will portals of the temple be opened for visitors.
