Nirav Modi bail plea rejected in UK court

London’s Westminster Magistrate Court on Friday rejected the bail plea of ​​the accused and fugitive diamond trader Nirav Modi of the PNB scam on Friday. Toby Cadman, who was lobbying on behalf of Indian officials, told the court that Nirav was not cooperating with Indian investigative agencies in the investigation. At the same time it is also a risk that if he is released from jail, he will affect the witnesses and destroy the evidence against him. The next hearing of the case will be on April 26.

In the court, Nirav Modi’s hearing was done through video conferencing. Earlier, Toby Cadman told the correspondants that if Nirav Modi gets bail during the hearing, we will appeal against it in the High Court. He said that we will do all the possible measures to keep Nirav Modi in jail.

Nirav was arrested this month by British police from London. After this, the Westminster Magistrate dismissed his bail plea and ordered him to go to jail. At that time, Nirav’s lawyers had also offered a security deposit of five lakh pounds (about Rs 4.5 crore) in the court. After this, Nirav Modi had filed a bail plea again.
