Rainfall expected in some districts of Uttarakhand on April 13 & 14

After relentless heat in the past few weeks the weather Gods finally seem to have relented in Devbhoomi.

While the scorching heat has made people sweat, there is a possibility of rain and hailstorm on April 13 and 14. The Meteorological Department has issued orange and red alert of severe heat from April 10 to 12. Meanwhile with the rapid rise in temperature, Glacier melting may increase in mountainous areas. Relief is expected after April 13. A yellow alert for rain and hailstorm has been issued for April 13 and 14. During this, people living in the hilly districts of the state will have to be especially careful. The districts where there is a possibility of hail, lightning and rain. They include Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Tehri, Dehradun, Haridwar, Pauri, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar.

Director of Meteorological Department Bikram Singh said that between rain and hailstorm, wind speed of 30 to 40 kmph is likely in these districts. Cattle living in the open can get injured due to hailstorm. The crop kept outside may get spoiled. The Meteorological Department has asked the farmers to keep the harvested crops in safe places. Talking about the capital Dehradun, the maximum temperature here on Sunday was 37 degree Celsius. Which is six degrees Celsius above normal. Similarly, the minimum temperature was recorded at 17.8 degrees Celsius, which is two notches above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance will become active in the state from the night of April 12. Due to which there may be rain in many parts of the state and the temperatures will drop.
