Severe heat wave in Delhi as temperatures near 47 degree Celsius

In many states of the country, including the National Capital, Delhi, the heat wave continues to take the nation in its grip. The temperature in the capital Delhi has reached 45 degrees. The Meteorological Department has issued Yellow Alert on Friday. By the end of this week in Delhi, the mercury is estimated to reach 47 degrees.

Mahesh Palwal, of the weather forecast agency Skymet Weather, wrote in a tweet: “Delhi’s Palam recorded 46.8 degrees Celsius temperature. This is the maximum temperature recorded in the month of May 2013. So far, on May 26, 1998, the maximum temperature was 48.4 degree Celsius in May.”

Hot winds are blowing in different parts of the country and theheat wave continues. In many places the temperature has reached 48 degree Celsius. Many parts of Telangana in southern India are in the grip of Loo for a month. In Telangana, 17 people have died in 22 days due to Loo and high temperatures.

There is tremendous heat in Telangana. In the city of Dayalabad, the temperature was 46.3 degrees Celsius for the second consecutive day. Indian Meteorological Department has warned people in Telangana for the next three days to avoid going out into the sun.

Due to the fierce heat and outbreaks of Loo in Rajasthan, general life is affected. The maximum temperature in Churu reached 47.3 degree Celsius, which is four degrees more than the normal temperature. Bikaner-Sriganganagar recorded maximum temperature of 46.8-46.8 degrees Celsius, Jaisalmer 45.5, Kota 45.3 and Barmer 45.2 degrees Celsius.

The temperature in Nagpur city of Maharashtra reached 46 degree Celsius. At Chandrapur, the maximum temperature was recorded at 48 degree Celsius. In Himachal Pradesh, the temperature was 43 degree Celsius in Una, while the maximum temperature of this season was recorded at Jammu and Kashmir at 42.8 degree Celsius.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the outbreak of Loo in Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha will continue for the next two-three days.
