Fire erupts at a coaching center in Janakpuri

A fire broke out on Tuesday in the building of a coaching center in Janakpuri. There was chaotic situation when the fire broke out. Hundreds of children were studying when flames started erupting from the building.

The smoke filled in the class as soon as the fire out

At around eleven o’clock in the morning the building of a coaching center in Janakpuri, there was a situation of fury when the electric panel box located on the ground floor of the multi-storey building caught fire. Many students were studying at this time. Due to the fire, the smoke started spreading around. People were not able to see anything because of the smoke.

Situation turns frightening in minutes

The situation started to look awful when there was a blast in the panel box after the fire. When there was a fire in the building then the classes were running in coaching in the building. The building also has a bank office. There is a library at the top floor. The entire building was evacuated after the incident.

The children were asked to leave their bags right there and immediately exit. Given the fear of unhygienic gases, the coaching classes in the building located in the vicinity were also evacuated. Many students came out ofthe building. After getting the information about the matter, the fire brigade squad arrived on the spot and managed to control the fire. Police is involved in investigating the case. There are many coaching institutes in the area of Janakpuri where this incident has happened.

This fire is reminiscent of the incident which took place in Surat some time back. 23 children were killed due to the fire in the Taxila complex of Surat. In this case the police had arrested the coaching operator. Since this incident, questions have been raised about the safety of all coaching centers across the country.

Just a day before the incident, the High Court has expressed concern over the fire prevention measures in the coaching center. The High Court has reprimanded the agencies on the petition filed against the large number of coaching centers operating without fire protection devices in Mukherji Nagar and the surrounding area. A bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice C. Harishankar said that if we do not prepare in time, then there will be an event like Surat of Gujarat in Mukherji Nagar.
