Cabinet meeting to be held in Almora on 23rd October

The government officials have completed the formalities to conduct the Uttarakhand cabinet meeting to be held in Almora on Wednesday which would be chaired by CM Trivendra Rawat.

The Government could rename Almora’s Residential University to late Soban Singh Jeena University. Apart from this, discussions on water policy, mining policy, home stay policy as well as topics related to revenue, social welfare, irrigation and women empowerment department are proposed in the cabinet. The important cabinet meeting of the state BJP government is being held in Almora on Wednesday. The meeting will be held at GB Pant Government Himalayan Environmental Research and Sustainable Development Institute, Kosi Katarmal.

It is believed that in this meeting Almora Residential University can be renamed and authorized to give affiliation. By doing this, the state degree colleges around Almora will be associated with it. This may reduce some weightage on Kumaon University. Uttarakhand’s own water policy can also be discussed in the meeting. The policy formulated by the Department of Irrigation has included a focus on reviving the watershed along with incorporating traditional methods of water conservation.
