All 31 accused found guilty in Vyapam scam

All the 31 accused have been convicted by a special CBI court in the scam in the Vyapam recruitment case of 2013. Now a decision will be given in this regard on 25 November. A charge sheet was filed by the CBI against 31 accused. All the accused were on bail, who were sent to custody after the verdict.

What is the Vyapam scam

The biggest disclosure of the disturbances in Vyapam was during the PMT examination for the first time on July 7, 2013, when a gang was caught by the crime branch of Indore. This gang used to make fake students sit in PMT exam. Chief Minister Chauhan handed over the matter to STF in August 2013.

The High Court took cognizance of the case and constituted the SIT in April 2014 under the chairmanship of retired High Court judge Chandresh Bhushan, under whose supervision the STF continued to investigate. On July 9, 2015, it was decided to hand over the case to CBI and from 15 July CBI started investigation.

Former government minister Laxmikant Sharma, his OSD OP Shukla, BJP leader Sudhir Sharma, Governor’s OSD Dhananjay Yadav, Vyapam’s controller Pankaj Trivedi, computer analyst Nitin Mohidra have gone to jail. More than two thousand people have gone to jail in this case, and more than four hundred are still absconding. At the same time, more than 50 people have died in connection with the case.
