Dhanaulti, Chakrata receive season’s first snowfall

Temperatures have dropped across Uttarakhand. There has been intermittent snowfall and rain in the tourist town of Dhanaulti. Due to the same snowfall, the faces of local traders have also blossomed.In the tourist city Dhanaulti, light snowfall started with rain since late Wednesday night which continued till Thursday morning. However, due to being accompanied by rain, snow was not able to stay on the ground for much longer.As per local reports, half an inch of snow has been frozen in the main market of Dhanaulti, while the high peaks of Dhanaulti are looking white due to snowfall in the high peaks of Surkanda. On the other hand, the trend of rain and cold winds continues in the tourist city of Mussoorie since morning, due to heavy fall in temperature, the outbreak of cold has increased. Due to rain and cold, most of the tourists remained inside the hotel, because of the silence on the Mall Road and the tourist places here, the whole city was covered by fog.

The first snowfall of this season has occurred on the high peaks of Chakrata in Uttarakhand. The entire region is in the grip to cold wave due to snowfall. People have to take all measures to avoid the cold.

The rain, which started Monday night, stopped on Tuesday. But on Tuesday night, light snowfall started on the high peaks of the region. On Wednesday morning, when the eyes of the people were opened, the high peaks of Chakrata, Devban, Khadamba, Vyas Shikhar, Moyla Top, Lokhandi were seen wrapped in snow sheet. Due to snowfall on the high peaks, there was a cold wave in Chakrata throughout the day.

Due to the cold winds, people stayed in the house throughout the day. People had to resort to fireplaces and heaters etc. in homes to avoid severe cold. The color of old Diwali being celebrated in the area has also faded due to the cold. Customers also did not appear in the markets due to heavy cold. The maximum temperature in Chakrata on Wednesday afternoon was eight degrees while the minimum was six degrees.

Due to this, people walking in the markets were also seen wrapped in thick clothes. However, the first snowfall in the last week of November has fed the faces of the traders associated with the tourism business along with the farmers. According to the farmers, snowfall in November indicates good snowfall can be expected in the coming months. Which will be beneficial for crops like apple, pear, etc. On the other hand, the faces of traders are also illuminated by the snowfall. Traders said that with the information of snowfall, tourist movement will start in the area. Which will increase their business.
