Mussoorie gets decked up for winterline carnival

Mussoorie Winterline Carnival 2019 is just a day away and Mall road and Bazaar are being decorated for this. ADM Ramji Sharan Sharma and SDM Varun Chaudhary reviewed the ongoing preparations. They informed that Mall road, Library Chowk, Kulri and Landour Bazar are being decorated with coloful lights. Forums are being made for presentation in prominent places of the city like Gandhi Chowk, Carnival Cinema, Garhwal Terrace, Shaheed Sthal.

Local artists accuse of neglect

Local artists and their organizations have decided to boycott Winterline Carnival, accusing the administration of neglect. The Mussoorie Joint Artists Organization Representative Committee has sent a memorandum to Mussoorie Festival Committee President / District Magistrate Dehradun through Sub-Divisional Officer Mussoorie, and termed Carnival as a waste. Also, there was a demand to stop such events.

The memorandum states that the committee fixed the honorarium for the programs for local artists. On 23 December, the artists were informed over the phone by SDM Gopal Ram Binwal that their prescribed honorarium had been reduced considerably. For which local artists are feeling disrespected.
