Special team deployed at Indo-Nepal border for Coronavirus screening

The Health Department has issued a high alert on the Banbasa border, which is the most frequent movement from Nepal, to be alert to the dangers of Coronavirus. For this, an additional team of doctors has started arriving here. A doctor from Nainital has taken charge at the checkup site. Health Department’s check post has been set up at SSB post at the border.

On Saturday, Champawat Health Department and SSB 57th Corps E Company had a very important meeting regarding Corona. It was decided at the meeting to jointly test ambulances coming from Nepal. It was decided that no suspected patient would be allowed to enter India. The health of Nepali patients going from Nepal’s ambulance to Indian hospitals will be examined.

Instructions will be issued to hospitals so that they can be monitored. If any patient is found to have upper respiratory tract infection, then he will be kept in isolation ward. The Health Department team included Dr. Mohammad Umar, Medical Officer Incharge, Dr. Kamal Kishore from Nainital, Dr. Sanjay Samant, CHO, Dr. Rajeshwari of SSB, Commander Pushkar Singh Dhami (Inspector) of E Company and his team. Dr. Umar said that till late Saturday evening, health of 94 people coming from Nepal were examined. So far 2149 people have been investigated.

Two doctors from the special team arrived to investigate the coronavirus on Nepal border

Two out of a team of four doctors sent from Nainital to the Health Department camps set up to investigate the coronavirus along the Indo-Nepal border have taken over. Two other doctors are expected to arrive on Sunday.
After the coronavirus infection, the Health Department has issued an alert to check the health of people coming from Nepal to India. Centers for health check-up have been established at Banbasa and Tanakpur border. On the orders of the Director General of Health, eight special doctors from Nainital district have been posted in these examination centers besides the doctors of the district.

Four of these doctors will be on duty from 15 to 25 February while the other four will be posted from 26 February to 8 March.
