Uttarakhand Budget session 2020 commences in Gairsain

With the Governor’s address, the Uttarakhand budget session began in Garsain. Amid the uproar of the opposition, Governor Baby Rani Maurya presented the government’s achievements, future direction and resolution before the House, presenting a 40-minute speech. The government will further strengthen the path of industrial development, employment, rural development and tourism development. In this financial year, the government will give a grant to the gram panchayats as basic grant. 100-year-old temples, temples, sites and monuments will be developed under the heritage planning scheme. The government has targeted to increase the sugarcane area from 84 thousand to one lakh hectare this year. The Governor gave a fluent address for about 40 minutes amidst the uproar of the opposition. She put forward every task planned the government for the next three years before the House.

Employment

The state has received 817 proposals with an investment of Rs 2,944 crore. From these 23937 people are expected to get employment. Through SIDCUL, land has been allocated to 22 units in various industrial aria. ough these, capital investment of 8221 crore and 1445 people  are expected to will get employment.

Road Construction

This year, the government will construct 1045 km of new roads. 1036 kilometers in length will be rebuilt. 147 villages will be connected by road, constructing 87 bridges.

Education

By the year 2022, more than 20 thousand primary and secondary schools in the state will be equipped with 100 percent basic facilities. Toilets, furniture, computers will be provided. Faculty of all disciplines will be established in degree colleges with more than 3000 students and employment courses will be started.

Rural Development

Under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana, 194 SC-dominated villages with more than 500 population have been selected to be developed as Adarsh ​​Grams.

Disaster Management

1794 lakh rupees have been given for the rehabilitation of 609 families in 22 villages sensitive to the disaster. The work of repairing the landslide slopes of the Purnagiri temple is in progress. Work is being done under the World Bank Project to improve the technology of building construction.

Milk production

The government aims to set up dairy of three, five and 50 animals under the scheme of rupees 445 crore assisted by Cooperative Development Corporation, opening new avenues of employment in milk production. A loan will be given to milk cooperative societies for easy purchase of 20 thousand milch animals. This will benefit 5280 people.
