Two priests found dead in Bulandshahr; cops nab accused

After the mob lynching of two sadhus in Palghar, Maharashtra, the incident of killing of two priests has come to the fore in Uttar Pradesh. Two sadhus were killed at Anupshahar Kotwali in Bulandshahr. It was reported that two sadhus sleeping in the temple premises have been attacked with sharp weapons. The mob has caught the accused and handed him over to the police.

According to the information, there is a Shiva temple in Pagona village of Anupshahar Kotwali. 55-year-old Sadhu Jagandas and 35-year-old Sadhu Sevadas, who live in the temple, were killed on Monday night. When the villagers reached the temple on Tuesday morning, they were shocked to see the bodies of the sadhus. A crowd of hundreds gathered in the temple upon seeing it.

Meanwhile, the villagers raised suspicion on a person. After this he was beaten up. On receiving information about the incident, the police force reached the spot and took the accused person in his custody. With this, the bodies are being sent for postmortem. Police says that the case is being investigated.

 

SSP of Bulandshahr, Santosh Kumar Singh said that preliminary investigation has found that a few days ago, the accused snatched one of the items (tongs) of the sadhus, after which the sadhus scolded him. Angered by this, the accused killed both the sadhus. The matter is under investigation.

Earlier, two sadhus and their driver were beaten to death on the intervening night of April 16-17 in Palghar, Maharashtra. Villagers had beaten all three on suspicion of organ theft. During this time, the policemen became mute spectators. More than 100 people were arrested in this case.
