Passenger train services suspended till August 12; special trains to continue

The Railway Board has taken a big decision in view of Coronavirus infection. The Railway Board said that the tickets booked from July 1 to August 12 will be canceled. Until August 12, only special trains will run. The notification issued by the Railway Board states that regular service of all mail, express and passenger trains is canceled till August 12. Railways have said that all tickets booked for regular scheduled train for the journey from July 1 to August 12 have also been canceled and the entire fare will be refunded.

Railways has said that all special Rajdhani, Mail and Express trains which have started operations from May 12 and June 1 will continue to operate. Earlier in a notification on 15 May, the railways had canceled all trains scheduled for travel by 30 June 2020 and decided to refund the tickets. On Tuesday, the railway announced the cancellation of all tickets booked for regular trains on or before April 14, saying that it would soon initiate refunds for those tickets.

Due to the danger of Coronavirus in the country, railway trains have been canceled. However, after the lockdown opened, the Railways has run some special trains which will continue to run. However, in view of the growing case of Corona in the country, Railways has decided to cancel regular trains till 12 August. The railway has made it clear that passengers will get 100% refund on the booked tickets during this period.
