Lockdown in Bihar from July 16 to 31

Full lockdown has been imposed in Bihar from July 16 to 31 as the state grapples with rise in Coronavirus cases.

What will remain open and what will remain closed during the lockdown in Bihar:

1. Central government offices, their autonomous / subordinate offices and public corporations will remain closed (security forces, public utilities, disaster management, power generation and post offices are allowed to function with minimum number of employees).

2. State government offices, its autonomous / subordinate officers and public corporations will remain closed. (Security Force, Fire and Emergency, Disaster Management, Election, Public Utilities, Food and Civil Supplies, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Municipal Body, Forest Officer, Office of Social Welfare)

3. Commercial and private establishments will remain closed. (Shops and services related to food, grocery and agricultural inputs are exempted along with banks, IT and related services, print and electronic media, internet, telecom, e-commerce, petrol pumps, power generation etc.)

4. Only restaurants with home delivery option are allowed to open.

5. Transport services will remain suspended during lockdown. (Air and rail transport, taxis, auto rickshaws, private vehicles for permitted activities, essential service providers, business transport vehicles)

6. Industrial establishments will be allowed to work with necessary precaution and strict implementation measures of social distancing.

7. All educational, training, research and coaching institutes etc. will remain closed.

8. All public places of worship will be closed. No religious congregation will be allowed without exception.

9. All social, political, educational, entertainment, sports, cultural and religious ceremonies and functions will be prohibited. Stadiums will be allowed to open without spectators.

10. The District Magistrates are barred from loosening the restrictions, but may impose additional restrictions as per their assessment at the local level.

11. All medical and essential services will remain outside the purview of restrictions during lockdown.
