Sputnik V vaccine trials to being in 5 countries including India

Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) President Kirill Dmitriev said on Monday that Russia’s Corona vaccine ‘Sputnik V’ trials will begin in some countries this month. These countries also include India. Apart from India, these trials will also take place in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Philippines and Brazil.

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced last month that Russian scientists have developed the world’s first vaccine ‘Sputnik-V’ of Covid-19. He said that one of his daughters has also been vaccinated, it is very effective and develops permanent immunity in the body.

India’s defense minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the Russian government and the people there for their success in preventing the spread of corona virus infection. Singh said at the SCO meeting on Friday, “I congratulate the government and public of Russia for successfully controlling the Covid-19 pandemic.”

Discussions are taking place at several levels between Moscow and the Indian government regarding the vaccine. It also includes issues such as vaccine supply, co-development and co-production. According to media reports, Russia has shared with India the ways of cooperation regarding the vaccine. It is currently being closely studied by the Indian government.

This vaccine has been developed by the Gamalaya Research Institute of Moscow in collaboration with the Russian Ministry of Defense. Russia is going to make Corona vaccine Sputnik V available to common citizens from this week. According to the prestigious Lancet Journal, the initial trial has not revealed any serious side effects of this vaccine.
