Government extends DL,RC renewal validity

The central government has once again given a major relief to the common people on many important vehicle documents such as vehicle registration, driving license and fitness certificate. Now any person can use such documents till 31 March 2021, whose validity has expired on 1 February 2020.

Validity date increased for the fourth time

The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has increased its legitimacy for the fourth time due to the corona pandemic. Earlier in August, the government extended the validity to 31 December 2020. The ministry said on Sunday, this decision will help citizens to avail services related to transportation while maintaining safe physical distance.

The Ministry has decided to extend the validity of fitness, permits, licenses, registrations or other documents under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989, till December 31, 2020.

Order implemented in the entire country with immediate effect

The central government has instructed all states and union territories to implement these rules with immediate effect so that no driver is harassed. The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that enforcement officials have been advised to consider such documents valid till 31 March 2021.

According to information received from the sources, the commercial vehicle owners had demanded some concession from the government. They said that the government should provide some relief for such vehicles, which are not getting down on the road due to practical problems. These include school bus operators.
