Maharashtra govt announces night curfew; travelers from Europe to be quarantined

After a new strain of Coronavirus was found in Britain, vigilance is also being done in India. The Indian government has canceled all flights coming from the UK till 31 December. Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has also issued a night curfew in the municipal corporations of the state from Tuesday. This order of the Maharashtra government will be effective from 22 December 2020 to 5 January 2021. During this time, all the municipal corporations of the state will have night curfew restrictions from 11 pm to 6 am.

According to the report of the news agency PTI, the government has implemented the restrictions due to the new strain of Corona found in Britain. The Maharashtra government has said that all travelers coming from countries of Europe and Middle East must stay in the Institutional Quarantine for 15 days. Passengers coming from international destinations other than Europe and the Middle East will stay in the Home Quarantine.

The official statement said that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray convened a meeting to discuss the situation arising after reports of a new variant of Corona in Britain. In the same meeting, it was decided to implement the night curfew restrictions in the areas of metropolitan corporations of the state from 11 pm to 6 am. It is known that Maharashtra is one of the worst-hit states from Corona.
