16 year old leggie Khrievitso Kense called for trials at Mumbai Indians camp

Mumbai Indians, who have won the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy a record five times, always keep an eye on India’s domestic players. Mumbai’s team also shows confidence in Indian players more than foreign players and the team has also given India many superstar players in the form of Hardik Pandya and Jaspreet Bumrah. Mumbai are eyeing home players for IPL 2021 once again and the team has called 16-year-old bowler from Nagaland, Khrievitso Kense, for a trial.

If Nagaland spin bowler Khrievitso manages to impress the team management with his performance, he will become one of the very few players to play in the IPL from North East. Riyan Parag from Assam made his mark in IPL 2020. Khrievitso has taken 7 wickets in 4 matches so far in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. Talking to Eastern Mirror, the 16-year-old leg-spinner revealed that Mumbai Indians have called him for a trial after watching a match. The Mumbai team needs a leg-spinner to support Rahul Chahar and in such a situation the team can look towards this bowler from Nagaland. Khrivito said that his corona test has also returned negative.

The Mumbai Indians team has released seven of its players prior to this IPL auction, including fast bowler Lasith Malinga. Apart from Malinga, the Australian fast bowler James Pattinson who performed well for the team last season has also been released. The team has also decided not to retain Nathan Coulter Nile. Talking about fast bowlers, the team has two world class bowlers in the form of Trent Boult and Jaspreet Bumrah.
