Uttarakhand to get over 1 lakh doses of Covishield vaccines initially
For the corona vaccination in the first phase, Uttarakhand will get 1.13 lakh doses of covishield vaccine from the Serum Institute. Instructions were issued by the Central Government to give vaccine doses to the state from the Serum Institute. The vaccine will arrive in the state by flight from Pune by Wednesday evening. A health worker has to take two doses of the vaccine. Accordingly, 50 thousand health workers will be vaccinated. Vaccine will be sought from the central government for the remaining health workers.
The data of 87588 health workers has been prepared and uploaded on the CoWin portal for the first stage to apply the Covid vaccine. 1.13 lakh vaccine is being provided to the state from the center. The state will get the covishield vaccine from the Serum Institute.
According to the guidelines of the Center, a health worker is to be given a vaccine dose. The second dose will take place within 28 days of the first dose. According to the vaccine quantity, 50 thousand health workers will be vaccinated in the state in the first phase. 10 percent dose of vaccine will be kept in reserve.
State Nodal Officer and NHM Mission Director Sonika informed that 1.13 lakh vaccines are being available in the state in the first phase. For this, the Central Government has instructed to get the Covishield vaccine from the Serum Institute. The flight from Pune will arrive in the state by Wednesday evening. All preparations will be completed in the state for vaccination.
The Covid vaccine will first come in state-made walk-in coolers in Doon and Haldwani. From here the vaccination dose will be sent to the districts by vaccination van. The walk-in cooler will keep the vaccine at a temperature of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius. 317 cold chain points have been identified in the state.
