CM Rawat presents Uttarakhand Budget 2021-22 at Gairsain

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat on Thursday presented state budget of 57400.32 crore for the year 2021-22 in the Legislative Assembly. The government has opened the budget packet for development works, especially construction and maintenance of roads and bridges. 2369 crore budget has been kept for public works. Free shoes and school backs have been announced for all students from classes one to eighth. Water supply will be ensured in every household in the urban area. The Chief Minister said that the budget is all inclusive. It has taken care of farmers, youth, women, poor and deprived people from all sections.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat presented the second budget as Finance Minister at four o’clock on Thursday, the fourth day of the assembly budget session. This is the fifth budget of the BJP government of the state. This is the third budget presented in Gairsain. For the year 2021-22, the total receipts in the budget is estimated to be 57024.22 crores. 650 crore will be adjusted from public accounts to meet the deficit of the consolidated fund in the new budget. The Chief Minister said that no revenue deficit is anticipated in the new budget while revenue surplus of 114.93 crore is estimated.

The budget reiterates the resolve to double farmers’ income by 2022 with a special focus on farmers. For this, Rs 87.56 crore has been earmarked under the traditional agricultural development scheme. Along with this, a provision of 245 crores has also been made for payment of cane price. There is a provision of 20 crores in the Chief Minister State Agricultural Development Scheme and 12 crores in the Integrated Model Agriculture Village Scheme. 25 crore has been given in the budget for the ambitious Chief Minister Ghassari Kalyan Yojana of the state government. 47 crore has been given for Deen Dayal Upadhyay Cooperative Farmers Welfare Scheme.

Large amount of drinking water schemes

Drinking water and irrigation schemes have received considerable attention. 240 crore for the Jamrani project and 150 crore rupees have been allocated for the Song Drinking Water Scheme. 667.76 crores for Water Life Mission-Gramin, 380 crores for Perry Urban Scheme and 180 crores for drinking water schemes under NABARD. In the budget, the MoU has also been given on the proposal of Rs 1200 crore financed from German Development Bank KFW to take Haridwar and Rishikesh completely under the ambit of sewerage scheme. This work will start after Kumbh. A provision of 80 crores has been made for this in the budget.

Environmental protection in the budget

Funds have also been provided for cleanliness and environmental protection in the budget. There is a provision of 101.31 crore for solid and liquid waste management under the Swachh Bharat Mission Gramin Yojana. 50.29 crores for plantation and reimbursement of damage to forest and environment under CAMPA has been arranged in the budget of 295 crores. 110 crore has been earmarked for eco-restoration work through JICA.
