Uttarakhand Cabinet approves organizing Kumbh from April 1 to 30

The government officials, which arrived in Uttarakhand’s summer capital Bharadisain, on Tuesday approved the commencement of the Mahakumbh in Haridwar from April 1. Apart from this, the cabinet approved the formation of two new universities and also took important decisions like strengthening the trust for Kedarnath reconstruction.

A total of 12 decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting held in the assembly. The Government agreed to keep the duration of Haridwar Kumbh to a minimum as per the expectation of the Central Government. The Kumbh will be held from April 1 to April 30. Apart from this, the cabinet also recognized that there is no need to build a tent colony for the festival.

No new trains will run at the Kumbh Mela, nor will buses from other states

During the Kumbh Mela, neither a new train will run nor new buses from other states. This fact came to light in the cabinet meeting. Accordingly, a letter has been sent to the Chief Secretaries of the Railway Board and all the surrounding states. So that the crowd can be kept under control during the fair in view of Covid.

The Chief Secretary has sent a letter to the Chairman of the Railway Board, requesting not to run any new trains during the Kumbh Mela. Simultaneously, it has been requested not to allow trains coming to Haridwar in the royal baths on April 12 and April 14, a day before these dates and to operate a sufficient number of outbound trains only.

Chief Secretary Om Prakash has sent a letter to the Chief Secretaries of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and Jharkhand have also been requested that the devotees who come to the Kumbh Mela should bring a fitness certificate after conducting a health check-up. It will be mandatory to maintain a distance of six feet for bathing at the government and private ghats. A total of 10 lakh 80 thousand people can bathe on the 18 km ghats on the Ganges river.
