IMA Passing Out Parade 2021 to be held on June 12

On June 12, 341 cadets will become part of the Indian Army after rigorous training from the Indian Military Academy (IMA). Apart from this, 84 cadets from nine friendly countries will also pass out from the prestigious institution. Lt Gen RP Singh, GOC-in-C, Western Command, will take the salute of the parade as the Reviewing Officer.

In view of the corona infection, this time precautions are being taken at many levels regarding the IMA parade. Gentlemen cadets’ relatives will not be able to join the POP this time. At the same time, only select officers of the army will participate in the parade. Before POP, there will also be ACC’s graduation ceremonies, the passing out batch award ceremonies and the Commandant Parade. This is the second time, while the relatives of the outgoing cadets will not be able to join the POP due to corona. Earlier, the relatives of the cadets also did not participate in the passing out parade held in June last year.

In December 2020, the relatives of the cadets were allowed to join the POP due to less infection, but this time in view of the second wave of infection wreaking havoc in the country and the state, during the passing out parade it was extremely difficult to have relatives of the cadets. Caution will be taken. So that the corona does not make an impact in the academy.
