CM Dhami wins Champawat by-polls by over 50000 votes

The counting of 13 rounds of EVMs of the booths has been completed. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has won by getting more than 54 thousand votes. With the victory of CM Dhami by record votes, BJP workers have started the celebration. CM Dhami got 57988 votes and Congress’s Nirmala Gahatodi got 3607 votes.

There is an atmosphere of celebration among BJP workers. The people of BJP were claiming a historic victory in the by-elections. Counting of votes for the by-election began at 8 am in the Van Panchayat Bhawan auditorium at Gauralchaud ground in the district headquarters amid tight security.

In the polling held on May 31 for the Champawat assembly seat, more than 64 percent of the total voting was recorded. That is, a total of 61,576 voters had exercised their franchise. A total of four candidates, including CM Dhami, were in the fray in the Champawat by-election.On May 31, votes were cast in 151 polling booths. There are total 96213 voters in Champawat assembly constituency. Of these, male voters are 50,171 and female voters are 46042. This time a total of 64 percent polling has been recorded in Champawat. 61,576 voters have exercised their franchise.
