Electric bus service between Delhi-Dehradun begins from today

Transport Corporation is going to start electric bus service from Dehradun to Delhi from today. Transport Minister Chandan Ramdas will flag off these buses on Saturday. Earlier, the Delhi government had recently sent a letter banning the entry of BS-4 vehicles into Delhi. At present, this period has been extended till March 31.

Meanwhile, the Transport Corporation is engaged in procuring BS-VI and electric or CNG buses. Four electric buses have reached Dehradun. These buses will operate initially between Dehradun to Delhi on trial basis. According to the officials of the Transport Corporation, these buses are fully electric.

Traveling will be easier with AC buses. Significantly, the roadways currently has a fleet of about 912 buses. The corporation is going to induct about 610 new buses in its fleet in the coming one year. Transport Minister Chandan Ramdas himself is monitoring to strengthen the Transport Corporation.

Operation of 26 Super Luxury Buses

Roadways is currently operating 26 super luxury Volvo buses on Dehradun-Delhi route. In this, 24 buses are running for Delhi and the remaining two buses for Gurugram. These buses are operated on diesel. At present, in the restrictions that are being imposed in Delhi regarding pollution, a diesel bus above the age of eight years cannot go to Delhi.
