IND vs BAN 1st ODI: Record last wicket partnership powers Bangladesh to 1 wicket win

The first match of the 3-match ODI series between India and Bangladesh was played at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. In a thrilling match full of ups and downs, Bangladesh won the match by 1 wicket on the basis of a record-breaking 51-run partnership for the last wicket.

Bangladesh had a target of 187 runs to win, but the Indian bowlers, while bowling brilliantly, at one time reduced Bangladesh to 136 runs for 9 wickets, but Mehidy Hasan Miraj and Mustafizur scored 51 runs for the last wicket. The unbeaten partnership gave the team a thrilling victory. Miraj remained unbeaten on 38 off 39 balls.

Earlier, batting first after losing the toss, Team India set a target of 187 runs in front of Bangladesh on the basis of KL Rahul’s innings of 73 runs. Apart from Rahul, Rohit Sharma played an inning of 27 runs. For Bangladesh, Shakib Al-Hasan took 5 wickets while Eadot Hossain took 4 wickets.

Bangladesh started very slowly. They lost their first wicket on the first ball. After this, Liton Das played a fighting inning of 41 runs. India were back on fire in the match as soon as the wicket of Liton Das fell. India needed one more wicket to win, but Mehandi Hasan Miraj’s last wicket stand helped Bangladesh win by one wicket.

With this thrilling win, Bangladesh has taken a 1-0 lead in the 3-match series after registering a win against India after 7 years. The second match of the series will be played on the same ground on 7th December.
