Uttarakhand weather update: Chances of rain and snowfall, orange alert for cold wave and dense fog in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar

There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hilly areas of five districts of Uttarakhand during the next 48 hours. Due to this, there will be a rapid fall in the temperature and cold is expected to increase in the state. There, there is a possibility of cold wave and dense fog in the plain districts of Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert in view of the cold wave. On the other hand, there was no signs of bright sunshine in many areas of the state including the capital Dehradun since Thursday morning, there is fog since morning.

According to Vikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, western disturbances are likely to be active in some areas of the state. Due to this, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in the hilly areas of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag and Dehradun. However, the changed weather is expected to be seen only for 48 hours. On December 31, due to the weakening of the Western Disturbance, the effect of cold will reduce.
