Uttarakhand weather update: Yellow alert of rain for two days from mountains to plains
According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, light rain may occur in some places of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag and Chamoli on May 17. Whereas, light rain is expected in some areas of the plains as well. Apart from this, there is a possibility of property damage due to lightning with thunder and winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
Whereas, there are possibilities of light rain at some places on May 18 as well. The Meteorological Department has advised people to stay away from electrical equipment during thunderstorms and keep the harvested crop in a safe place.
Travel only after accurate weather information
Brikam Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, suggested the pilgrims coming to Uttarakhand Chardham to get accurate weather information before coming on the yatra. Weather information is being shared every day on the official website of the Centre.
