Monsoon to enter Uttarakhand today, rain forecast for the next five days

The Southwest Monsoon is making rapid progress. Due to its effect, there will be heavy rains in the whole country for the next five days. On the other hand, there is a possibility of heavy rains with heavy showers in the hilly districts of the state on Sunday. With this, monsoon will formally enter Uttarakhand.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain with isolated heavy showers in Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Dehradun, Tehri and Pauri districts. While a yellow alert has been issued for several rounds of rain in other districts of the state. Director of Meteorological Center Bikram Singh said, it will rain across the state on Sunday.

On the other hand, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that after a slow start, the monsoon is moving forward rapidly in East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, most parts of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, West Bengal, Northeast India, Uttarakhand, Himachal. It has covered most parts of the country. Due to which, from Punjab to Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh to Maharashtra and Haryana, Uttarakhand, will get light to heavy rains.
