Dehradun, Mussoorie receive heavy rains; yellow alert for 6 districts

Today in Dehradun and surrounding areas, the day started with bright sunshine. However, after noon the weather changed and it rained in Mussoorie and other hilly areas including the capital Dehradun. Fog enveloped Mussoorie after rain.

Heavy rains are expected in six districts today. A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Center for heavy rain across the state on Monday. There is a possibility of heavy rain especially in some areas of Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar districts.

There may be heavy rains in other districts as well. At the same time, there are chances of heavy thunder and lightning with intermittent rains for the next few days.

Humidity in the plains

Humid heat can trouble people for the next five days in the plains across the state. However, rain will bring respite from the heat in the hilly districts. At the same time, for the last few days, an increase in the maximum temperature of Dehradun district is being recorded. Due to this, the city is suffering from humid heat. It was humid throughout the day on Monday as well.
