Uttarakhand weather update: Heavy rain alert till July 25

There will be heavy rains across the state from Saturday for the next four days. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain for four days for all the districts. Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, said that from July 22 to 25, there may be heavy rains in some areas of Garhwal and Kumaon regions. Landslides may block roads in vulnerable areas.

In Uttarakhand, there has been heavy destruction due to cloudburst in Thalisain of Pauri and Purola of Uttarkashi. The part of a bridge near Bagwadi village on the Thalisain-Pathisain-Bungidhar motorway has been damaged. Due to which the movement of more than five villages of Chauthan Patti has come to a standstill. While the movement of 80 villages of the belt has been affected.

The villagers of Patti will have to travel an additional 30 km on the Bheeda-Jaspur-Ufrainkhal motorway. Due to this calamity, the cowshed of a villager of Rauli village of Patti has been washed away. In which 10 goats and two bulls are missing. Along with this, the fields of the villagers of Rauli and Bagwadi villages have been washed away.

On the other hand, due to heavy rains and cloudburst in Uttarkashi late night, the affected people of landslides at many places in Purola, Barkot and Dunda tehsils were taken to safe places by the administration. Along with this, immediate efforts have been started to open the roads blocked by landslides and restore power, water supply.
