Uttarakhand weather u[date: Yellow alert for heavy rain in eight districts

The rainy season continues in Uttarakhand. The rivers and streams are in spate due to the rain. There is a sequence of heavy rains in Doon and surrounding areas. Heavy rain occurred in many areas late on Monday night. According to Bikram Singh, director of the Meteorological Center, no change in weather patterns is expected for the next three days.

Yellow alert of heavy rain has been issued by the Meteorological Department for Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar districts.

However, some rounds of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning are expected in other districts as well. According to the release issued by the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the state for the next few days. Due to this, landslides can block the roads in sensitive areas.

Heavy rain on Monday

After remaining cloudy throughout the day in Doon, in the late evening it rained very heavily in many areas like Jakhan, Rajpur Road, Sahastradhara road. Due to the heavy rains in the mountainous areas, there was a boom in the rivers and drains of Doon. Traffic came to a complete standstill due to heavy ingress of water in the roof of IT Park on Sahasradhara Road.
