Medical college to start in Haridwar from the new session; Health Secretary conducts inspection

State Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar said that the newly constructed Medical College in Haridwar will be started by giving admission to medical students from the new session 2024-25. With this, patients from Haridwar as well as across the district will start getting health services from the Medical College. He said this while inspecting the health services of the city and inspecting the medical college.

Instructions were given to handover the under construction Mother and Child Hospital within 15 days. On Saturday, the Health Secretary reached the district hospital at around 12 noon. He first inspected the emergency ward. Saw the treatment of patients here. After this he interacted with four dengue patients and their attendants admitted in the dengue isolation ward. Took feedback on the health services they were receiving.

During this, while talking to the journalists, the Health Secretary told that the construction work of the medical college is going on at a fast pace. 70 percent work has been completed. The construction work of the hospital will be completed by March 2024. With this, classes for medical students of 2024-25 batch will also start. During the inspection, CMO Dr. Manish Dutt, Chief Superintendent of District Hospital Dr. CP Tripathi, Medical Superintendent of Mela Hospital Dr. Rajesh Gupta, Dr. Sandeep Nigam etc. were present.
