Mild Earthquake tremors reported in Uttarkashi, Pithoragarh

An earthquake of 6.2 magnitude struck Nepal at 2:51 pm on Tuesday. Since then, 15 more aftershocks have been reported in the region in 24 hours. Since Tuesday, a total of 27 earthquakes have occurred in India, Afghanistan and Tajikistan including Nepal, out of which nine tremors were recorded on Wednesday.

Sequential incidents of after and before earthquake in Nepal are rare in the eyes of scientists. People in Uttarakhand, Delhi-NCR and other states also got scared due to earthquake tremors. Scientists of Wadia Himalayan Institute of Geology are keeping a close watch on these incidents.

 

An earthquake tremor was recorded in Uttarkashi on October 5. According to the National Center for Seismology, the intensity of this earthquake has been measured at 3.2 on the Richter scale. While a 4.3magnitude Earthquake was reported in Pithoragarh on October 3.
