Covid screening starts in AIIMS Rishikesh
In view of the possible infection of Corona virus, Covid Screening OPD has been started in AIIMS Rishikesh. Every suspected patient will also be tested for Covid through a flu clinic in this OPD area established in front of the trauma center of the institute. AIIMS has also reserved 6 beds for Covid infected patients.
In the last few days, some new cases of the new variant of Corona virus JN.1 have been reported in different areas of the country. However, not a single case of a patient suffering from the new Corona virus has come to light in Uttarakhand yet. But as a precautionary measure, AIIMS Rishikesh has started Covid testing facility for suspected patients while intensifying the health safety measures.
AIIMS Public Relations Officer Sandeep Kumar Singh said that this step has been taken by the hospital administration to screen Covid suspected patients as per the guidelines of the institute’s Director Professor Meenu Singh.
Health check-up of Covid suspected and flu patients will be done in OPD from 9 am to 5 pm. It has been named ‘Flu Clinic’. In the flu clinic, every patient who is affected by symptoms like cough, fever, cold and cough will be examined. If necessary, Covid sample of such suspected patient will also be taken and sent for testing.
