B.Tech and PhD seats increased in NIT Uttarakhand

The number of seats in B.Tech and PhD courses in National Institute of Technology (NIT) has increased. NIT Director Prof. With the initiative and special efforts of Lalit Kumar Awasthi, the Board of Governors of the institute has approved increasing the number of seats. The benefit of increased seats will start coming from the academic session 2024-25. The selection of Dr. Harimaul Azad for the post of Registrar of the institute has been approved.

Director of NIT Uttarakhand, Prof. Lalit Kumar Awasthi said that now 200 students will be given admission in B.Tech course instead of 180. The number of seats under Institute Fellowship for PhD program has been increased from 40 to 60.

Pro. Awasthi said there is no restriction on the number of students taking admission in the PhD program under the Junior Research Fellowship and Self-Financed Scheme. Students of Uttarakhand will get the benefit of increase in the number of seats in NIT Srinagar.

Director Prof. Awasthi said that the process of filling the vacant posts of faculty and officers and employees in the institute is also going on. Dr. Harimaul Azad has been selected for the post of Registrar of the institute. Presently he is working on the post of Controller of Examinations in Garhwal Central University.

The Director informed that the Board of Governors has approved the selection of Dr. Harimaul Azad for the post of Registrar. Dr. Azad has been officially informed regarding this.
